My first party in 2011 was yesterday at Cologne’s famous „Bootshaus“ with no other but the legendary Chris Lake. I was really looking forward to this one for quite some time and was therefore totally excited. And Mr. Lake did not disappoint me! On the contrary - he made an amazing show with great music and an electrifying atmosphere.
While writing this article, I'm listening to Chris' and Marco's album "Cross the line" for the 10000000000000000000000000000th time. I'm just trying to keep last night's feeling alive for as long as possible, because this gig was definitely something worth to remember.
At around 2AM, Chris took over the DJ booth and opened the night with a great mashup of Daft Punk's "One more time" and Stardust's "Music Sounds Better With You". And after that, it was one bomb after the other: "Domino's", "Cross the line", "Knas", "Only One", "Running Out", "Beachball" and many, many more.
It was so much fun to watch him play. He wasn't at work, Chris is just living his dream. :) You can see how happy he is with what he's doing and you can feel it with every single beat.
In Chris' set was so much energy and so many positive vibes, the music made everybody smile. The good mood was intoxicating and it became better and better with each further song.
"We are your friends...you'll never be alone again..." -
Chris just confirmed once again what Justice & Simian have told us so many times before - as long as there is house music, no one has to be alone :)
The most sublime moment was when Chris closed his set with "Changes". There I was, singing along to the song, which's responsible for my falling in love with house music, standing next to the producer, responsible for keeping this relationship alive since 2006... And my only thought was - I've never been happier in my entire life! :)
So, thank you, Mr. Lake for a spectacular evening! It was so damn worth it to drive 800km in two days just to be part of this amazing event and to finally meet one of the nicest persons in house music business. ;)
