HAPPY BIRTHDAY 3001!

Yesterday was the ninth birthday of my favourite german club 3001 in Dusseldorf. I had soooo much fun!! It was my first time back there since the club was renovated, so I was really excited to see for myself how different it is now from what it used to be.

The first thing you see, when you get in, are the BIG light balls, hnaging from the ceiling. It's incredible how they've changed the atmosphere in the club. Everything is still very modern and extravagant, but somehow much warmer.

Although it was the club's birthday, every guest got a special gift at the entrance. Something little as a thank you for supporting the club in these past nine years. I think, that this gesture was very kind and it shows only once more how important the regulars are to 3001. Or as the crew said: "We are not the only ones who have birthday today, it's your birthday as well, since you've supported us for nine years".

Julian Yogeshwar, Olli Wallner and Phillip Heithier - the residents of the club were behind the decks. This was the right thing to do, because it was the birthday of the club and there's no one a better choice for an act as the actual residents. Everyone else would have changed the theme of the night.

Besides, the guys are playing soooo good, you don't need an international act! Julian for instance is so young and already so incredibly talented. He's currently working on his first track. I'm not allowed to give you information on it yet, but I can tell you this: it sounds very, VERY promising! As to his set yersterday - it's a pleasure to watch him play :)

And Olli's amazing set was accompanied by the live vocals of Phillip Heithier. You can see for yourself on the video below how great that was :)) The two had so much fun performing together and the result speaks for itself:

All in all, it was a great evening with great music and great people at the greatest german club 3001 :)

See you all on Halloween, when Julian and Olli will rock 3001 together with Norman Doray and Thomas Gold :)

9 YEARS 3001

YES, YES, YES! My favourite club 3001 is celebrating its 9. birthday this Saturday. The #1 location in Dusseldorf will open its doors for an amazing party with the moto "Let there be light" one more time this month, but this will be a very special event. People will gather to celebrate the birthday of the club with great music, a lot of fun and exquisite DJs. Make sure to be there, I definitely won't miss that one!

And if you still don't have plans for Halloween (besides buying Patric la Funk's "Baltic ;) ), you should make a stop at 3001. Why? Because Julian Yogeshwar, Thomas Gold and Norman Doray will rock it! As a party of the MidWestMusic-series, it will continue the amazing festival from this summer. Due to the bad weather conditions, Norman and Thomas couldn't play on the second stage and now, the waiting has come to an end.

For everyone who hates the cold seasons - here's a reason to like them: The summer break of 3001 is over and now it's time for some hot music :)

PATRIC LA FUNK - BALTIC

I can't tell you how happy it makes me that Patric la Funk's "Baltic" is finally being released :) I remember how I heard it for the first time six months ago and now it's only 11 days away until I'll finally have it on my iPod!! Yes, the song is coming out on Halloween and you will be able to purchase it exclusively on Beatport. Enjoy the preview, you'll instantly fall in love with "Baltic"...just like I did half a year ago :)

PETE'S HOTTEST

Hey guys,
I was thinking about doing this for a very long time and now I feel like the time is right. There's a reason why Pete Tong is often called a legend. He is like Anna Wintour of house music :D You may laugh, but the "Essential Selection" has given birth to more than 1 star. It's a privilege to be played by Pete and therefore I would like to take a closer "listen" to his show every week and to choose for you the creme de la creme of new music. Because, as Pete likes to say: "In new music we trust" :)

So, as to this week's show (30/09), I want to show you 5 extraordinary tracks.Starting with Eric Prydz and his amazing 2Night.The track proves once more what a great producer Eric is.

Second on my list is also one of my favourite producers - Chris Lake. His music has always been very inspiring and what I like most about him is the fact that with every new track, he is trying out something different. This is the thing about Chris Lake, you can never tell what he'll be releasing next, but it will be a good one for sure. So is his latest production, called "Sundown".

The next track comes from Porter Robinson and is called "Unison". I really love this one, it has so much power!

Porter Robinson - Unison by Porter Robinson

"Moon Palace" by Alan Fitzpatrick was another great discovery for me. The track is perfect for this last sunny summer days - warm and calm.

Alan Fitzpatrick - Moon Palace by Bedrock Records

As to the last track, I have to say, that I was very happy to hear that Pete is supporting it. Both, the Laidback Luke edit and the original sound really amazing, so they have my full support as well. Patric la Funk and Grace Regine with "Time and time again":

LET THERE BE LIGHT Vol.1

Yesterday was THE night - it was the great re-opening of my favourite club in Germany 3001.And as promised, the concept had to do with light, light and more light.
Due to a surgery, I couldn't be there last night, but my sources are telling me that it was an amazing event.I picked out for you the best pictures from Nachtagenten.de and Tonight - two of the most important online party communities in Germany.
Behind the decks were no one less than Olli Wallner and the youngest 3001 resident DJ Julian Yogeshwar and from what I've heard, they've done one great show.
The new concept of the club shows only once more that there no one more important to the 3001 crew than the customer. Can't wait to visit the club soon, they've changed a lot. The DJ booth is no longer in front of the VIP section, it is in the center of the club, right next to the entrance.
The event yesterday had two more highlights: a red carpet and professional dancers. All I can say is: GREAT JOB, GUYS, GREAT JOB :)
FYI: If you still haven't decided how to celebrate Halloween, there's really only one place to be! Norman Doray and Thomas Gold will be having a gig at 3001 ;)Pictures by nachtagenten.de; tonight.de / d-3001.de
